VIKEFON 4K HDMI Audio Extractor – Optical SPDIF & Stereo
VIKEFON 4K HDMI Audio Extractor with Optical SPDIF & 3.5mm Stereo Output
Unlock the full audio potential of your home entertainment setup with the VIKEFON 4K HDMI Audio Extractor. This compact, USB-powered device extracts audio signals from any HDMI video source, sending them simultaneously to a digital optical S/PDIF port and an analog 3.5mm stereo AUX output — so you can connect your soundbar, stereo speakers, amplifier, or headphones without compromising your video signal.
Made in Mainland China.
Key Features
- Dual Audio Outputs: Optical S/PDIF (Toslink) for high-definition multichannel digital audio, plus a 3.5mm AUX port for analog stereo — connect both simultaneously.
- 4K@30Hz Video Pass-Through: Full 4K video resolution passthrough at up to 30Hz, keeping your picture quality pristine on your TV or monitor.
- HDMI 1.4b & HDCP 1.4 Compliant: Works seamlessly with a wide range of source devices including PS4, PS5 (4K@30Hz mode), DVD players, Blu-ray players, TV boxes, computers, and projectors.
- Multichannel 5.1 Surround Sound: Supports up to 5.1CH audio over S/PDIF when your video source outputs a 5.1CH signal.
- USB Powered: Draws power from any standard USB port — no bulky power adapter required (USB power cable included).
- Certified & Safe: CE and RoHS certified for quality and safety compliance.
Important Notes Before You Buy
- This extractor uses HDMI 1.4b — maximum supported resolution is 4K@30Hz. Devices that output 4K only via HDMI 2.0 (e.g., PS5 in 4K@60Hz mode, PS4 Pro at 4K, Xbox Series X/S) will not pass 4K through this unit; connect to a 4K@30Hz-capable display for best results.
- To receive 5.1CH surround sound, your HDMI video source must output a 5.1CH audio stream.
- Does NOT support HDMI ARC or eARC. Do not connect the HDMI output to an AV receiver expecting HDMI audio return.
- When using the 3.5mm AUX output, set your HDMI source audio to PCM 2CH — otherwise you may experience no audio or noise.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I use this HDMI audio extractor with a PS5 or Xbox Series X at 4K?
A: The VIKEFON HDMI Audio Extractor supports a maximum resolution of 4K@30Hz via HDMI 1.4b. The PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PS4 Pro typically output 4K only via HDMI 2.0 at higher refresh rates. If these consoles are set to a 4K@30Hz output mode, the device may function, but full 4K@60Hz output is not supported. For standard HD (1080p) use with these consoles, it works perfectly.
Q: Does this extractor support HDMI ARC for connecting to a soundbar?
A: No, this HDMI audio extractor does not support HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel) or eARC. It is designed to extract audio from an HDMI input source and output it via optical S/PDIF or 3.5mm AUX — the HDMI output port is for video pass-through only and cannot carry ARC audio back to an AV receiver or soundbar.
Q: Why is there no sound or only noise when using the 3.5mm AUX output?
A: This is a common setup issue. When using the 3.5mm analog stereo output, you must set your HDMI source device's audio output to PCM 2CH (stereo). If the source is outputting Dolby Digital, DTS, or another encoded format, the AUX output will produce no audio or distorted noise. Only the optical S/PDIF output can handle encoded multichannel audio formats.
Q: Does this device need an external power adapter?
A: No external power adapter is required. The HDMI audio extractor is powered via the included USB cable, which can be plugged into any standard USB port on your TV, console, or a USB wall charger (not included). This makes it easy and convenient to integrate into any AV setup.
