Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How accurate is this 5-minute sand timer?

A: The sand timer uses evenly filtered microcrystalline glass beads to maintain a consistent flow rate. It has a timing deviation of less than ±10%, meaning it may run slightly over or under 5 minutes. It is designed as a visual timing aid rather than a precision instrument, making it perfect for everyday tasks like toothbrushing, games, and classroom activities.

Q: Is this sand timer safe for young children?

A: Yes — the materials used are non-toxic and free from harmful chemicals, with no irritating odors. The soft plastic end caps add an extra layer of protection. However, since the body is glass, adult supervision is recommended for children under 3 years old to prevent accidental breakage.

Q: Can this sand timer be used as a desk decoration?

A: Absolutely! Its pastel macaroon color tones and transparent glass body make it a beautiful accent piece for desks, bookshelves, bedrooms, and office spaces. It's both functional and decorative — a two-in-one accessory for any space.

Q: What should I do if the sand sticks to the inside of the glass?

A: This is completely normal. The microcrystalline glass bead sand may sometimes stick to the glass walls due to static or moisture. Simply place the timer in a sunny or well-ventilated area and allow it to dry naturally — the sand will loosen and flow freely again.
